SJL Jimenez Lunz has the honor to announce that Martine Feipel and Jean Bechameil, two artists that SJL Jimenez Lunz have been supporting so far, have been unanimously appointed by a panel of international and national judges coming from the arts and culture to represent the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at the 54th Venice Biennale, the international contemporary art exhibition which will run from 4 June to 27 November 2011 (http://www.labiennale.org/en/art/index.html).

Martine’s and Jean’s artwork entitled Cercle Fermé or Closed Circle aims to deconstruct the Ca’ del Duca, the Luxembourg pavilion, in order to create stunning optic illusions. According to curator René Kockelkorn “the observer is presented with a single idea: the obvious necessity of finding a new type of space”.

SJL is an official patron of the Casino LuxembourgForum d’art contemporain (http://www.casino-luxembourg.lu/) in the framework of the participation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at the 54th Venice Biennale.
